The municipality of Larache announced the closure of the railway crossing adjacent to the military barracks, as part of a partnership and cooperation agreement concluded with the National Railways Office, with the aim of carrying out development works and establishing an underpass at the site.
A statement from the municipality explained that the works, undertaken by the National Railways Office, are part of a program to rehabilitate railway infrastructure in the city and reduce the risks of direct crossing of the tracks, thereby enhancing safety conditions and protecting users of the crossing from the dangers of train passage, in addition to improving the environmental and urban surroundings.
The municipality stressed that the closure of the crossing caused some inconvenience to the residents and its users, offering its apologies for this temporary situation, and calling for the understanding and cooperation of citizens until the works are completed and the crossing is reopened.
