HIBAPRESS – Mohammed Zerouih
The coastal front of the municipality of Ras El Ma, in the province of Nador, has witnessed an unprecedented state of intense security and local mobilization in recent days, in the wake of thwarting a major illegal immigration operation and apprehending dozens of individuals who were planning to cross to the neighboring Jaafarine Islands.
This field intervention came after elements of the Royal Gendarmerie affiliated with the Zayo brigade detected suspicious movements on the coastal strip, where proactive sweeping operations led to the surrounding and apprehension of 67 irregular migration candidates from sub-Saharan African countries before they embarked on their sea journey.
The field measures were not limited to the security aspect only, but extended to include strict precautionary decisions affecting the entire coast; The competent authorities hastened to ban swimming and evacuate the sandy beach of Ras El Ma, thereby allowing the implementation of a similar decision that entered into force one day earlier and targeted the rocky beach of "Ighonja".
The detained group of migration candidates were subjected to the legal and administrative procedures in force under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, while security agencies are intensifying their investigations and inquiries to unravel the mysteries of this criminal network and determine its potential ramifications.
These field developments reflect the vigilant approach adopted by the local and security authorities to confront human trafficking and illegal immigration networks, while ensuring the security of the beaches and protecting the maritime borders from any potential exploitation by organizers.
