HIBAPRESS
A responsible source from the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication denied what was circulated about the "displacement" of books and valuable documents from the public library and archives in the city of Tetouan, confirming that the measures taken come within the framework of a comprehensive plan to preserve the heritage savings of the library.
The source explained that the matter relates to the temporary relocation of only some secondary contents to another safe facility belonging to the same sector, with the aim of maintaining and repairing some of the library's facilities. This relocation aims to preserve these contents from any damage that may befall them due to the restoration work, and to make way for the company in charge to carry out maintenance and restoration work in favorable conditions. The source pointed out that the Regional Directorate of the Culture Sector in Tangier had launched, several weeks ago, the restoration and maintenance work of the library's facilities located on Mohamed V Street in Tetouan. Regarding the relocated contents, the process was carried out according to strict conditions, where the relocated contents were processed and recorded accurately, the contents were placed in thick cardboard boxes to facilitate their relocation and preservation under the direct supervision and monitoring of the library's staff and in coordination with the relevant administration.
