A huge fire broke out on Saturday evening in the Qalain forest in the commune of Khemis Sahel in the province of Larache, which mobilized various intervention teams, after the flames approached a number of homes.
Civil protection elements, the Royal Gendarmerie, local authorities, and auxiliary forces continue their efforts to contain the fire, with the assistance of "Canadair" planes to help extinguish it, while residents of the area also participated in the intervention operations.
Strong winds caused difficulty in extinguishing operations and accelerated the spread of the fire within the forest cover, while the causes of the fire have not been determined until now, as efforts continue to control it and limit its expansion.
