HIBAPRESS
The spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Sabah Al-Numani, affirmed that Baghdad will not allow any security breaches that affect neighboring countries, announcing the seizure of 15 drone launch platforms.
Al-Numani stated in remarks to "Al-Arabiya" that the Iraqi authorities appreciate Saudi Arabia's stance aimed at de-escalating the situation, following recent attacks that targeted the Kingdom and originated from Iraqi territory.
He added that Iraq "will not be part of regional tensions," while simultaneously confirming that security agencies are pursuing any party using weapons outside the state's framework.
15 Drone Launch Platforms
The spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces revealed that security agencies have managed to seize 15 drone launch platforms, as investigations into the recent attacks continue.
He clarified that high-level committees are present in Maysan Governorate to investigate the attacks, in parallel with the implementation of a series of security measures in the governorate.
Al-Numani confirmed the issuance of "firm directives" to dismiss those negligent in the security file, indicating that the authorities will work to deploy sufficient security forces in Maysan.
He emphasized that Baghdad will not permit any breaches affecting neighboring countries, nor will it allow the use of weapons outside the framework of state institutions.
Investigations and Security Measures
Al-Numani's statements coincide with the Iraqi authorities expanding their investigations into the attacks that targeted Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, the head of the Iraqi Security Media Cell, Lieutenant General Saad Maan, announced the seizure of a rocket launch platform within Iraqi territory, which he said was used in the incident targeting the Saudi pipeline, confirming the continuation of field and intelligence work to apprehend those involved.
Baghdad also announced ongoing communication with Saudi Arabia to exchange intelligence and security information and to brief them on the investigation's findings.
As part of the measures taken, directives were issued to change and relieve a number of security leaders and officials, while Iraqi authorities affirmed that these steps are aimed at strengthening command, control, and field follow-up.
Saudi Arabia had announced that the East-West pipeline in the Riyadh and Medina regions was subjected to an attack, which led to its precautionary shutdown, while the attacks resulted in some casualties.
Following the attacks, Baghdad affirmed that it would not allow Iraqi territory to be used as a launching point for attacks on Saudi Arabia or any other neighboring country, while security agencies continue their investigations to identify the involved parties.
