The death toll from a collision between a taxi and a light vehicle on the road linking Tessaout and the Beni Amer commune rose to two people this morning, after a university student succumbed to her injuries a short while ago in the resuscitation unit of Al-Salama Regional Hospital in Kalaat Sraghna.
One of the passengers in the taxi had previously died at the scene, while four people were transported in critical condition by ambulance, suffering severe injuries as a result of the force of the collision.
Royal Gendarmerie elements and civil defense services arrived at the scene, where initial interventions were carried out to rescue the injured and transfer them to the nearest health centers, while security services have launched a field investigation to determine the causes and circumstances of this unfortunate incident.
