Social media platforms reacted widely after a picture circulated showing the actress and Member of Parliament for the National Rally of Independents party, Fatima Khair, accompanied by her colleague, actor Benaissa El-Jirari. This picture was promoted in the context of the election campaign for the 2026 legislative elections before it became clear that it was modified using artificial intelligence techniques.
In a phone call made by HIBAPRESS with artist Benaissa El-Jirari to ascertain the truth of the matter, he confirmed that the picture was indeed fabricated and had undergone a fake modification. He pointed out that his colleague Fatima Khair's recourse to the judiciary is considered an "inherent right and a legitimate act of protection," while he personally prefers not to pursue any party at the present time.
For her part, Fatima Khair had explained to the press that the original shot was taken during a party activity and showed her at a distance from El-Jirari before it was manipulated. She described this behavior as an act lacking ethics, human conscience, and exceeding the principles of competition, affirming her retention of the right to accountability and to take legal procedures at the appropriate time.
