The Judicial Police Service in Tangier, in coordination with the Directorate General for National Territorial Surveillance, on Wednesday, September 16th, at noon, arrested a 22-year-old Swedish citizen who is the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by the Swedish judicial authorities.
The individual was apprehended in Tangier. His identification revealed he was internationally wanted under a Red Notice issued by the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), at the request of Swedish judicial authorities, on suspicion of involvement in a case related to attempted premeditated murder.
The foreign suspect was caught red-handed impersonating a false identity and engaging in forgery after presenting a driver's license containing falsified identification details during an identity verification process. He has been placed under police custody pending judicial investigation into forgery and its use, which is being conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecution. The National Central Bureau "Interpol Office Rabat," affiliated with the General Directorate of National Security, has been tasked with notifying its Swedish counterpart of the arrest of the individual concerned.
The arrest of the suspect comes within the framework of the Moroccan security services' commitment to activating international security cooperation mechanisms, particularly in pursuing and apprehending individuals internationally wanted for transnational crimes.
