On Friday evening, the Moroccan Olympic football team climbed to the top step of the podium at the Parc des Princes stadium in the French capital Paris to receive the bronze medal after finishing third in the men’s football competition at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The players of the first Moroccan national team, led by Naif Akrad, Ibrahim Diaz, Youssef En-Nesyri and Sofiane Amrabat, praised what the “Atlas Lions” have achieved at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Subscribers noticed the absence of player Hakim Ziyech during the celebrations or congratulations to the Olympic team, as he did not post any comments or photos on his social media accounts.
Hakim Ziyech’s failure to congratulate the Moroccan national team on its historic Olympic achievement sparked widespread outcry and controversy on social media sites in Egypt and Morocco.
Some observers have interpreted this “ignorance” as reflecting the tension that Ziyech has experienced recently with the Moroccan first national team, especially after the arrival of Ibrahim Diaz and the supporters preferred him to the position of right winger, which Hakim usually occupies.
It is worth noting that the Moroccan Olympic team won the bronze medal after beating its Egyptian counterpart (6-0) in the match for third place.
