HIBAPRESS – Meknes
Specialized authorities in the city of Meknes are continuing their investigations to uncover the circumstances of the death of a woman whose body was found in a hotel room at the entrance of Meknes. This incident has seen new developments after the head of the Mallaa municipality, in the province of Errachidia, was placed under judicial custody pending the ongoing judicial investigation.
According to available information, the individual concerned was subjected to judicial custody by the Royal Gendarmerie, who is not affiliated with the Popular Movement Party as a reliable source has indicated, after he turned himself in to the competent authorities. This was ordered by the Public Prosecution in the framework of the investigation aimed at determining the circumstances of the woman's death.
The ongoing investigations seek to determine the timeline of events that preceded the discovery of the deceased inside the hotel, especially in light of information suggesting that she was present at the location with the head of the municipality before her death was reported.
In the same context, preliminary medical examinations, according to available data, revealed injuries to the head and face. However, the nature of these injuries and their relation to the cause of death remain contingent on the results of the autopsy and the medical expertise ordered by the Public Prosecution.
In parallel, the Royal Gendarmerie continues its investigations by questioning the individual concerned, gathering testimonies and data related to the incident, and utilizing available technical and scientific elements. This is intended to help reconstruct the circumstances of what happened inside the hotel.
The discovery of the woman's body had already mobilized the specialized authorities and local government, who rushed to the scene. Legal and technical examinations and procedures were carried out before the body was transferred to the morgue for a medical autopsy.
The investigations are expected to include a review of the hotel's registration data, the questioning of several individuals whose testimonies might be useful in the investigation, as well as the examination of all available technical and scientific data. This is aimed at determining the circumstances of the death and any potential responsibilities, if they exist.
At this stage, the case remains under continuous judicial investigation supervised by the competent Public Prosecution, while the determination of legal responsibilities is contingent on the results of the investigations and expertise, with the presumption of innocence respected until a final judicial ruling is issued.
