Several neighborhoods in the city of Boujdour witnessed tension on Wednesday, coinciding with the legislative elections, after clashes erupted between a number of individuals. There were reports that the incident was linked to supporters of competing candidates.
According to information circulating from the scene, altercations between parties affiliated with different electoral factions escalated into friction and confrontations, causing widespread dissatisfaction and concern among citizens, especially around some polling stations related to the electoral process.
Local sources shared information speaking of some parties employing thugs to participate in these confrontations, before security forces intervened to contain the situation and prevent the escalation of the clashes.
