HIBAPRESS – Rabat
Abdelkrim Benatiq, the former minister and a leader of the Unionist party, failed to win a parliamentary seat for the Rabat Surroundings constituency, as the results of the legislative elections did not allow him to return to the House of Representatives.
Benatiq is considered one of the political figures who has accumulated governmental and party experience. He previously held ministerial responsibilities and served in several capacities within the Socialist Union of Popular Forces party.
Benatiq's result in the Rabat Surroundings constituency came in the context of strong electoral competition among a number of candidates and parties, which concluded with other candidates securing the parliamentary seats allocated to the constituency, according to semi-official results.
