HIBAPRESS – Tangier
The mobile unit of the emergency police affiliated with the Tangier Security Directorate, on election night, managed to foil an operation suspected of being linked to the smuggling of a quantity of hashish in the Dakhla Bouhssain area by the buoy.
Available data indicates that the emergency police officers seized the cabin of a truck suspected of being used in the operation. Subsequently, elements of the judicial police force affiliated with the second security district of Bani Makada joined the scene, where the site was cordoned off and its surroundings secured.
This intervention coincided with the mobilization of security services to secure the atmosphere of the electoral contest. Preliminary data suggests the possibility of exploiting the circumstances to carry out the operation, but the security intervention prevented its completion.
Specialized services have initiated their investigations and inquiries to uncover all the circumstances of the case and identify the individuals likely linked to it, under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, as part of security efforts to combat drug trafficking in Tangier.
