HIBAPRESS – Al Hoceima
The legislative elections held in the Al Hoceima constituency on September 23, 2026, resulted in the victory of Mohamed Laaraj, the candidate for the Popular Movement Party, securing one of the four parliamentary seats allocated to the province. He garnered 7,535 votes according to the announced results.
Laaraj conducted his election campaign with a clear focus on direct communication with citizens. His tours included several regions and communities, particularly in Issaken, Ketama, Beni Bounsar, Targhist, and others. These outreach meetings centered on the residents' expectations, development issues, public services, job opportunities, and investment.
This victory reaffirms Laaraj's presence in the local political scene. The campaign, as reflected in its on-the-ground activities, was characterized by calmness, communication, and proximity to citizens, avoiding confrontational rhetoric. He maintained a political image associated with fieldwork and direct engagement with the province's residents.
With his parliamentary seat secured, Mohamed Laaraj returns to the forefront of political representation in the Al Hoceima province. This comes as promises and commitments made during the campaign await transformation into programs and initiatives that serve the interests of the residents and meet their expectations.
Laaraj had previously won a seat in the 2021 elections, but the Constitutional Court annulled it. He subsequently lost it in the by-elections that awarded the four seats to representatives of the National Rally of Independents, Authenticity and Modernity, Independence, and the Socialist Union.
