The political arena in the province of Driouch is entering a new phase of institutional tension, following the intention of a political party to file a formal appeal before the Constitutional Court to question the announced results of the recent legislative elections.
The anticipated file is based on a precise field inventory of the electoral process, as the appellants raise suspicions related to the counting of votes from voters who were proven to be outside the country on election day, in addition to the inclusion of absent individuals' names on voter lists without any delegated authorization.
The legal concept of the appeal also includes direct testimonies from citizens who state that they did not actually participate in the elections, and were surprised to find their names included among the lists of voters in some local polling stations.
In addition to that, the file highlights paradoxes related to an unprecedented surge in participation rates in some ballot boxes, exceeding the ninety percent threshold, which the legal team intends to consider an indicator that warrants judicial scrutiny.
The defenses are not limited to election day only, but extend to potential violations during the campaign period, including the use of religious expressions and national symbols in the rallies of competing candidates.
These legal actions conclude with the aim of demanding the annulment of the membership of some of the constituency's winners and the re-holding of elections, pending the final word of the Constitutional Court to assess the extent of the impact of these violations on the integrity of the ballot.
