A police inspector working at the Regional Police Commissariat in the city of Tamesna was forced to use his service weapon this morning, Monday, March 30, to neutralize the danger posed by a 21-year-old man who resisted arrest and exposed the safety of police officers and the safety of people and property to danger.
According to preliminary investigation information, the person in question was arrested on suspicion of involvement in a case related to theft, possession, and illegal trafficking of narcotic medical pills, and possession of a motorcycle suspected of being obtained through criminal acts. The suspect also had a national search warrant issued by the Royal Gendarmerie for suspected involvement in a similar case of theft with threats of violence. During the arrest and escort of the suspect to the competent security service headquarters, he showed violent resistance against the police officers and tried to escape, along with another person who was detained in connection with a separate case, before attempting to endanger the safety of the police officers, which forced one of them to use his service weapon, which resulted in the injury of the suspect in his lower extremities. This emergency use of the service weapon enabled the neutralization of the danger posed by the suspect. He was kept under medical supervision at the hospital pending the judicial investigation ordered by the competent Public Prosecution, in order to determine all the circumstances, details, and background of this case.
