The elements of the Royal Gendarmerie's Territorial Center in Mirleft, early Tuesday morning, managed to foil an attempt at illegal migration that was in the process of being prepared from Sidi Ouafi beach in the Sidi Ifni province, heading towards the Spanish islands.
The operation resulted in the apprehension of 50 candidates for migration, most of whom are from sub-Saharan African countries, including seven Moroccans, along with the seizure of an inflatable boat, an engine, and a quantity of gasoline that was prepared for use in the sailing operation.
Under instructions from the competent Public Prosecution, the Royal Gendarmerie services have initiated judicial investigations to uncover the circumstances and details of this operation, and to identify individuals potentially linked to its organization, as part of the efforts made to confront illegal migration activities along the province's coasts.
