The Regional Tourism Council of Marrakech-Safi held its ordinary general assembly for elections on Tuesday evening, September 29, 2026, at the Movenpick Hotel Marrakech, in the presence of representatives of the council's three bodies: elected officials, institutional representatives, and tourism professionals.
This general assembly was specifically dedicated to presenting and studying the literary and financial reports for the year 2025, as well as reading the auditor's report. Following these presentations and discussions with the members, the general assembly granted a discharge for the management of the year 2025.
The members of the general assembly also praised the efforts made by Mr. Hamid Bentahar, President of the Regional Tourism Council of Marrakech-Safi, and all members of his office, for the development and radiance of the Marrakech destination and its region.
Special attention was given to the work accomplished for the provinces of the region, through an approach aimed at strengthening their presence, attractiveness, and integration into the regional tourism dynamic. The general assembly also highlighted initiatives dedicated to valorizing intangible cultural heritage, skills, traditions, and authentic experiences, which constitute a fundamental component of the identity and attractiveness of Marrakech-Safi.
This dynamic is part of a vision for more integrated territorial promotion, aiming to enable all territorial areas of the region to benefit from tourism growth, and to strengthen the positioning of Marrakech-Safi as a diverse, sustainable, and rich destination with its heritage and experiences.
At the end of this general assembly, the members renewed their confidence in Mr. Hamid Bentahar by re-electing him for a new term. This re-election reflects the collective will to continue, alongside elected officials, institutional representatives, and professionals, an ambitious dynamic for promoting and developing the Marrakech-Safi destination, while monitoring the implementation of structuring projects and strengthening the regional tourism ecosystem.
