HIBAPRESS – Tangier
The city of Tangier will receive, today, Wednesday, the Moroccan frigate "Tariq Ben Ziyad" and the French frigate "Guépratte", as part of the new phase of the joint Moroccan-French naval exercise "CHEBEC", organized since September 11th.
The Tangier stop is expected to provide an opportunity to evaluate the results of the exercises conducted between the naval forces of the two countries, under the supervision of the Inspector General of the Royal Moroccan Navy, Admiral Mohammed Tahine, and his French counterpart, Vice Admiral Laurent Helleman, Commander of the Mediterranean Maritime Zone.
Following this stop, the two frigates will continue their activity through a joint naval patrol in the Alboran Sea, with the aim of strengthening operational coordination and developing mechanisms for cooperation and response to potential maritime crises.
It is worth noting that the "CHEBEC" exercise has been organized annually since 1994, before expanding in recent years to include joint naval fields and exercises that go beyond the protection and security of maritime navigation.
