Today, Sunday, during a sea assistance mission, 16 kilometers southwest of Dakhla, two Royal Navy units intercepted a boat carrying 68 would-be illegal immigrants, including two bodies, all from sub-Saharan African countries.
A statement from the General Command of the Royal Armed Forces indicates that the rescued candidates, who had sailed on August 5 of this month, with the intention of going to the Canary Islands, received first aid, before being transported to the port of Dakhla and handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie in order to carry out the administrative procedures in force.
The source added that the two bodies were deposited at the morgue of the Hassan II hospital in the city of Dakhla by civil prevention agents.
