Judicial police officers in the provincial security district of Jerada, on Wednesday evening, managed to arrest a young man in his twenties on suspicion of his involvement in cases related to telephone fraud and deception and impersonating public officials.
The suspect's arrest came during a security operation in the Chouaiber neighborhood of Jerada city, based on information provided by the services of the General Directorate for National Territorial Surveillance, which enabled them to locate and apprehend him.
According to available data, the detainee was subject to a nationwide search, on suspicion of his connection to cases related to fraud and deception using communication means and computer systems, by impersonating public officials and using banking data and information belonging to victims.
The same data indicates that these suspected acts aimed to seize sums of money from the victims' bank accounts, pending the results of the investigations and inquiries conducted in the case.
This security operation falls within the context of the efforts made by the security services in Jerada city to combat various forms of fraud and deception, and to track down wanted individuals, especially in cases related to financial transactions and the use of modern communication means.
The suspect has been subjected to the necessary legal procedures, under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, in order to deepen the investigation with him and uncover all the circumstances and details of the acts attributed to him, as well as to determine if there are any other potential parties involved in these cases.
