The city of Targuist in the Al Hoceima province witnessed a state of alert yesterday evening, following the outbreak of a fight inside a cafe in the city center, which caused chaos and confusion among customers.
According to initial available data, the incident began with a dispute between a customer and an employee at the cafe, before the situation rapidly escalated into a violent altercation, accompanied by acts of vandalism and damage to a number of chairs and tables inside the cafe.
In light of the escalating tension, security services were notified. Police elements from the Targuist commissioner's office moved to the scene and managed to contain the situation and restore calm, before escorting a number of involved parties to the commissioner's headquarters to be questioned about the circumstances of the incident.
Concurrently, security services initiated a preliminary investigation under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecution to determine the real causes behind the fight and assign legal responsibilities in light of the investigation's findings.
Investigations are still ongoing to uncover all details of the incident and ascertain its circumstances and context.
