As we approach the holy month of Ramadan, where the number of those wishing to perform Umrah rituals increases, and where offers from travel agencies to attract pilgrims abound, despite the measures taken by the relevant ministry to reduce the process of fraud.
However, the situation remains unchanged. Dozens of pilgrims in the Red City have been subjected to a sophisticated scam by a travel agency, which extracted from them financial sums exceeding one hundred million centimes in total, in exchange for a promise to obtain visas, plane tickets, and to take care of bookings and internal travel. However, the victims found themselves facing false promises after the agency reneged on its commitments. The victims had no choice but to approach the Public Prosecution, which tasked the judicial police with conducting an investigation into the matter and presenting the involved parties before it. This deterrent measure, despite its importance, cannot satisfy the victims who were hoping to visit the holy places, which leads to taking more stringent measures.
