HIBAPRESS – Rabat
It was announced in a statement issued in Rabat on October 12, 2026, that an agreement has been reached to form a new government majority comprising four political parties: Authenticity and Modernity, Independence, Socialist Union of Popular Forces, and Progress and Socialism. This comes after two rounds of political consultations led by Fatima Ezzahra Mansouri, the designated Prime Minister, according to the statement.
The same source clarified that the consultations focused on discussing the challenges and constraints facing Morocco, as well as seeking a cohesive and strong political majority capable of responding to the expectations of citizens, improving living conditions, strengthening freedoms and rights, achieving social justice and territorial equity, and promoting economic prosperity.
The statement indicated that the agreement on this majority was reached after considering the national and international contexts, the results of the legislative elections of September 23rd, and previous governmental experiences, emphasizing that the four parties share intellectual and political proximity and a common reform vision aimed at strengthening democratic construction, good governance, and bolstering the productive capacities of the national economy.
According to the statement, the parties forming the new government majority will work on proposing the names of ministers based on criteria of competence, political acumen, integrity, and uprightness, in preparation for forming a cohesive and strong government capable of implementing the contents of the government program, which is expected to be prepared as soon as possible.
