The Assembly of Occupied Ceuta approved on Tuesday the official holiday calendar for 2027, which includes March 10, corresponding to Eid al-Fitr, and May 17, corresponding to Eid al-Adha, in addition to other national and local holidays.
The authorities of Occupied Ceuta thus continue to include the two Islamic holidays in the official calendar of the city, as the 2026 calendar had already included Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha among the holidays.
The council approved the 2027 calendar with the support of various political groups, with the exception of "Vox," which opposed the inclusion of the two Eids and demanded their replacement with days linked to Christian and local traditions, while the groups supporting the calendar defended it as a reflection of the religious and cultural diversity in the city.
