The scientific component of SIDATTES will occupy an important place in the show’s programming, through the organization of an Investment Forum and a Scientific Day, two events eagerly awaited by professionals, institutions and all stakeholders in the sector.
With the theme “Investment in the phoenicicultural sector, a mechanism for creating resilient systems in the face of climate change”, the Forum, organized jointly by the Agency for Agricultural Development (ADA) and the Crédit Agricole du Maroc Group (GCAM ), will bring together professionals, public and private operators and project leaders.
Likewise, the scientific day, organized by the National Institute of Agronomic Research (INRA), in collaboration with the National Agency for the Development of Oasis Zones and Argan Trees (ANDZOA), will allow exchanges between professionals, institutional , researchers and students around the latest technical and technological progress linked to the development of the sector.
The development of the date palm sector, classified among the flagship sectors by the “Green Generation” strategy, is the subject of a program contract between the State and the Moroccan Interprofessional Date Federation for the period 2021-2030, recalls the same source.
This program, with a budget of 7.5 billion dirhams, provides for the planting of 5 million date palm trees, including 3 million in traditional palm groves and 2 million in modern expansion zones. It also aims to support youth entrepreneurship, strengthen cooperatives, and improve production, packaging, processing, as well as distribution and marketing circuits.
An essential space for sharing and exchange around the phoenicultural sector, its issues and its challenges, SIDATTES enjoys a special place in the Kingdom’s agricultural policy. A vast restoration and restructuring program was thus implemented for the development and sustainability of the sector, making SIDATTES a major communication platform for the promotion of Moroccan dates.
