The French sports minister said on Wednesday that the French athletics federation had suspended runner Mohamed Abdullah Konta, who competed in the 400 meters at the Paris Olympics, after an account on the social media platform X revealed previous hate speech posted by the athlete.
Emily Odea Castera said on her X account: “The president of the Federation confirmed that he had suspended the athlete and referred the case to the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Disciplinary Commission of the Federation.”
The “Sword of Solomon” or “Sword of Solomon” account on the X platform yesterday Tuesday referred to certain tweets that Konta published between 2021 and 2024, in which he declared, among other things, his hatred for Israel.
After this was revealed, the athlete posted a photo of himself wrapped in the French flag on his social media accounts, saying he was sorry for offending people.
