Rabat security explains the truth about a “fake Kalashnikov”

Rabat security has categorically denied the validity of the comment circulating on instant messaging applications and social networks, according to which “the security services of Rabat seized a Kalashnikov-type firearm in the possession of a person in a natural park in Rabat.”
To enlighten public opinion, and refute this statement which undermines the feeling of security, the Rabat Security Prefecture confirmed, in a report, that the judicial police of the Agdal Hassan region had opened a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor, this morning, Thursday, August 29, after the arrest of a minor student, aged 17, and possessing a plastic imitation model which resembles a Kalashnikov rifle.

The same source adds that the research carried out revealed that this imitation plastic piece, which imitates the shape of a pistol, was acquired through an online trading site.

The statement of truth indicates that the security mandate of Rabat, while wishing to clarify the truth about this matter, renews in return its denial that the matter is linked to a real weapon.
