The Northern Human Rights Observatory has noted the irregular migratory movements recently recorded, including elected officials affiliated with a territorial group in the Nador region.
The Human Rights Observatory indicated in a report that around fifteen Moroccan immigrants were able to enter the occupied city of Melilla, while the Observatory recorded an irregular migration of elected officials from a territorial community in the province of Nador.
The same observatory also highlighted that “the majority of irregular migrants, including unaccompanied minors, continue to prefer to reach the city of Ceuta by swimming, with a qualitative shift from individual migration by swimming to a collective form taking advantage of the fog that prevents security surveillance across maritime borders.
The report of the Northern Observatory of Human Rights mentions “an increase in attempts at migration of unaccompanied minors to the occupied beaches of Ceuta from the banks of Fnideq, with a swimming rate of more than 10 kilometers, taking between 10 and 15 hours between the sea and the Fnideq – Ceuta section, or Blionche – Ceuta. This takes an average of two hours.
The Observatory’s report draws attention to the fact that the previous period saw “between 1,200 and 1,300 irregular migrants, mostly young people aged 15 to 24, manage to arrive in occupied Ceuta, mostly Moroccans, 90% crossed the maritime border with Fnideq, 5% of them crossed the border with Balyounish and 5% crossed the border.
