An Italian minister attacks Macron: he represents a “danger” for Europe

The day before yesterday, Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini accused French President Emmanuel Macron of putting Europe in danger by refusing to rule out sending Western forces to Ukraine.

The statements by Salvini, leader of the far-right League, part of the government coalition led by Giorgia Meloni, were made at a rally in Rome for European right-wing and nationalist leaders to mobilize support ahead of the European Union parliamentary elections scheduled for June.

At the rally organized by the Identity and Democracy bloc in the European Parliament, Salvini said Macron's proposal last month to send troops to Ukraine was “extremely dangerous, excessive and unbalanced.”

Salvini said in his speech, in which he strongly emphasized the values of conservative families: “I believe that President Macron, with his words, represents a danger for our country and our continent.”

He added: “The problem does not come from mothers and fathers, but rather from warmongers like Macron who talk about war as if there were no problem now. »

He continued: “I do not want us to leave our children with a continent that is preparing to enter a third world war. »
