A number of Moroccan importers are awaiting approval from the Ministry of Agriculture on the decision to import “olive oil” from abroad in order to fill the shortage of this consumer product on Moroccan markets.
A decision that benefits a number of traders to bring quantities of olive oil to Moroccan markets, as this consumer good among Moroccans is expected to experience a decline in harvests during this season more than in previous seasons, and the price of a liter of olive oil olive oil is expected to approach 150 dirhams during the next autumn semester. On the other hand, Moroccan farmers fear flooding the market with oils and causing the bankruptcy of many of them, especially since the national product of olive oil has been damaged for several seasons and financial difficulties have led many farmers to abandon their farms.
Some of them hope that the Ministry of Agriculture will study the import decision in all its aspects and allow the entry of limited quantities to cover the shortage occurring in the markets.
