The Head of Government launches a new round of social dialogue

A new round of social dialogue was launched on Tuesday March 26, 2024 in Rabat, under the chairmanship of the Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch and in the presence of the Minister of Economy and Finance; the Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Labor and Skills; the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Economy and Finance, responsible for the Budget; the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Relations with Parliament, Government Spokesperson and the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform.

In this context, the Head of Government received a delegation from the Moroccan Labor Union (UMT), led by the general secretary of the trade union center, Mr. Miloudi Moukharik. The meeting, which took place in a positive atmosphere, marked by responsible and constructive dialogue, made it possible to review the reform projects undertaken by the government in application of the High Royal Directives.

The two parties agreed to continue joint action and reflection with a view to responding to the various social challenges, like the pension reform project that the government intends to implement during this year.

The head of government expressed during this meeting the deep conviction of the government as to the pivotal role of trade union centers and the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises in the process of consolidating the foundations of the social state, and their contribution to the dynamic economy that our country is experiencing, and this through a participatory approach which lays the foundations of a solid and permanent partnership between the government and its social and economic partners.

Aziz Akhannouch also described the results of social dialogue as positive and honorable, noting the government's success in opening a serious and responsible dialogue with the trade union centers, which made it possible to improve the material situation and the status of workers. workers in several sectors and to deal with pending sectoral files.

It should be noted that this Tuesday's meeting of the Head of Government with the UMT delegation will be followed during this week by a series of meetings with delegations from the General Union of Workers of Morocco (UGTM ), the Democratic Confederation of Labor (CDT) and the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM).
