The parliamentary advisor of Al-Buruj district in Settat province, Mustafa Dahmani, sent a petition to the Prime Minister to shed light on the miserable reality the region is experiencing due to the decline that is occurring at all levels.
Al-Dahmani stated in the text of his petition No. 2024/63, which was sent on 08/05/2024, under the supervision of the President of the Council of Advisors, (he said): The Settat region is considered the capital of the Chaouia region and the former center of the region, and the region has experienced a decline in development projects after the division of the Chaouia-Ouardigha region and the annexation of Settat to the Casablanca-Settat region, where infrastructure has deteriorated, public and private investments have decreased, and the region has lost part of its attractiveness, despite the abundance of natural, human and cultural capacities. This requires accelerating the launch of an integrated and multidimensional development program to raise the Settat region and the region. capital of Chaouia to the level of “the urban, economic and cultural renaissance experienced by similar Moroccan cities and the implementation of urban development programs benefiting from the mobilization of various public and private partners.”
Dahmani addressed the Prime Minister, saying: “It is no secret to you that our country’s hosting of international sporting events, including the 2030 World Cup, is a favorable opportunity to integrate medium-sized cities close to major cities into World Cup projects and allocate them to host the participating teams and reduce the pressure on major centers. The province of Settat has rehabilitated infrastructure through short-term programs at a controlled cost, to host part of the World Cup activities, which contributes to launching a development movement. which elevates the Settat region to the level to which we all aspire, under the sublime leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God grant him victory and his support.
