Tangier.. Arrest of a person who cut off electricity and damaged public equipment

Yesterday, Tuesday, September 10, police officers from the Beni Makada security zone in the city of Tangier were able to arrest an 18-year-old suspected of being involved in incitement to defame public institutions and of intentionally cutting off electricity for this purpose, to endanger the safety of citizens and road users.

The National Security Vigilance and Information Services monitored a video posted on social media, showing a person inciting and cutting off the power supply to the lighting poles on the main street, in a way that poses a danger to citizens and road users, and caused a lack of lighting in all the alleys of a neighborhood in the city of Tangier.

The research and investigations carried out in this case made it possible to identify the suspect, before his arrest yesterday, Tuesday, in the city of Tangier.

The suspect was subjected to a judicial investigation, supervised by the competent public prosecutor’s office, to reveal all the circumstances and circumstances of this case, as well as to determine the true background to the commission of these criminal acts.
