Parliamentarian Johara Boussada questioned the Minister of Health and Social Protection on the situation of the morgue of the regional hospital center of Beni Mellal.
The parliamentarian noted that the regional hospital center of Beni Mellal provides multiple and diversified health services for the benefit of a population estimated at around 2.5 million people spread across 135 local authorities, most of which are predominantly rural. This hospital center has recently experienced intense dynamics. demand for various hospital services, especially after the generalization of… Health coverage is accessible to the different social groups in the region, despite the valuable efforts made by the administrative and nursing staff and all the supervisors of the hospital center in order to. meet the hospital needs of the region’s inhabitants, some departments of the center lack the equipment and resources necessary to provide various services, such as the morgue of the same center. It is the only hospital in the city of Beni Mellal. which receives corpses daily, whether from public hospitals in the different regions that make up the region or from certain private clinics, as well as from the regional hospital in the city of Khouribga, despite the availability of a warehouse for the dead and humans. resources needed for his work.
All this, the parliamentarian added, makes the morgue of the regional hospital center of Beni Mellal live in a miserable state, in addition to the lack of equipment necessary for the preservation of bodies, such as refrigerators, because the bodies are placed in a room cooled by fans, which presents a danger for the warehouse workers and for the families who come to take a last look at their dead and carry out the transport and burial procedures.
Bousjada thus questioned the minister on the procedures and measures that the ministry will take to equip the morgue of the regional hospital center of Beni Mellal with refrigerators to preserve the dead and all the equipment necessary for its work.
