The Spanish National Court has rejected an asylum application filed by a Moroccan citizen who swam into occupied Ceuta.
The court said that poverty in Morocco “does not constitute a valid justification for obtaining asylum in Spain.”
The Court affirmed that Morocco is not witnessing a serious armed conflict of an ethnic or religious nature to justify the text of its judgment.
She added that the economic situation in Morocco may be difficult, but it is not a sufficient reason to grant asylum.
