HIBAPRESS-RABAT
Macron had to choose between the Algerian anvil and the Moroccan hammer to define once and for all his next policy, which could restore confidence to a France torn by its permanent oppositions and on which the choice of the present depends enormously
Macron, in good spirits and with personal satisfaction, judged it useful to base himself on the Moroccan path which remains the only one capable of giving France this lifeline which it greatly needs, especially since Senators, elected parliamentarians and other party presidents have repeatedly raised with Macron their real wish for a France close to Morocco, with the insistence “the Moroccanness of the Sahara” openly expressed by Macron so that the Franco-Moroccan clash can finally be dissolved…forever
Still, by affirming that “the present and future of Western Sahara fall within the framework of Moroccan sovereignty”, President Emmanuel Macron knew perfectly well that he runs the risk of a break with Algeria .
We must not forget that Macron seeks instead to strongly support companies and their shareholders even if it means rationing the welfare state (schools, hospitals, social budgets) by reducing its revenues and drastically lowering its ambitions, always with the sole aim of to coax the French right and extreme right
In this sense, the Letter from HM King Mohammed VI gave an additional plus for Macron to better respond to the right which has previously shared its proximity to the Kingdom and its declared hostility to Algeria.
