Heba Press – Marrakech
The Spanish Ministry of the Interior rejected the asylum requests of Sahrawis loyal to the Polisario mercenaries and decided to expel sixteen of them who were detained, including some at the Spanish “Barajas” airport.
According to the Spanish news agency “Efe”, citing judicial sources, it was decided to expel the first batch of asylum seekers from a flight that left Barajas airport last Thursday evening, bound for Marrakech, where the agency reported that 15 other people were still in the asylum rooms of the aforementioned airport, awaiting their expulsion today, Sunday, October 6, by flight.
The same agency indicated that two of the deportees were subjected to interrogation as part of the established tracing process, immediately after their arrival in Morocco.
The Spanish Interior Ministry has decided to reject asylum requests submitted by illegal immigrants from Morocco in general, as well as from the Moroccan Sahara in the south of the Kingdom, because they did not meet the conditions required to obtain international protection in accordance with Spanish legislation, as the Spanish authorities have taken measures which include the return of these people to Morocco after deciding not to allow them to enter the country.
