Marrakech/Centrist Democratic International: Nizar Baraka highlights Morocco’s efforts to promote internal democracy and the social economy

The Secretary General of the Istiqlal Party Mr. Nizar Baraka took part in the work of the Executive Committee of the Centrist Democratic International organized in Marrakech, from April 11 to 14.

The centrist Democratic International was created in 1961. Its headquarters are located in Brussels. Made up of 73 members, this organization is chaired by former Colombian President Andrés Pastrana Arango.

This event is attended by several internationally renowned personalities such as Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Spanish MEP Antonio López-Istúriz White, Cape Verde President José Ulisses Correia and other political figures.

Mr. Nizar Baraka was accompanied by a delegation including Rahhal Mekkaoui, in charge of foreign relations at the Party’s Executive Committee, and the Minister of Commerce and Industry Ryad Mezzour, who is participating as a member of the Central Committee.

On this occasion, Nizar Baraka highlighted Morocco’s efforts to promote internal democracy and the social economy, recalling the major social reforms carried out by the Kingdom, in particular the generalization of social coverage.

This event hosted by Morocco reflects the trust and good reputation enjoyed by the Kingdom as a crossroads of civilizations.
