Heba Press: Ashtouka
The suffering of the inhabitants of the town of Ait Baha, territorially attached to the Chtouka Ait Baha region, increases from year to year due to a random dump of household and agricultural waste, created by a collective council to resort to to the incineration of waste at night, which makes the region’s skies even darker and stifles the breath while it sleeps.
Despite the demands of the population through its elected officials as well as civil associations, to find a solution to the collective landfill, which does not meet the minimum environmental conditions, as well as the delay of the major landfill project, which will include other territories communities to treat waste, and whose fate is still unknown.
However, the authorities must implement the commitments and policies adopted by the State regarding the climate agreement and the protection of the environment against all forms of pollution.
