The Community of Marrakech intends to launch a new project to rehabilitate Avenue Mohammed V, one of the famous streets of the Red City, by adding modern facilities, equipment and connections.
The project includes infrastructure improvements, including the renewal of sidewalks and road paving, in addition to the establishment of an irrigation network, similar to previous projects that included main streets last year.
During the October meeting of the collective council, details of the project were announced, which will take into account the needs of people with special needs by adding accessibility.
New street furniture such as benches, barriers, lighting poles and bins will also be installed, while plots, parking spaces and road signage will be significantly improved.
The works are expected to continue for six months with an estimated budget of around 35 million dirhams, complementing the infrastructure projects witnessed in Marrakech in 2023 with the aim of facilitating traffic and giving an aesthetic character reflecting the history of the city and its global status.
