Chicken prices in the city of Casablanca and its suburbs saw a significant increase on Saturday morning, oscillating between 24 and 25 dirhams per kilo.
Prices recorded a notable increase at the poultry wholesale market in Muhammadi district, where the wholesale price reached 21 dirhams per kilo this morning, with expectations that this increase will continue due to the lack of rainfall.
Professionals believe that the delay in rains during this period greatly contributed to the spread of diseases among chicken chicks.
Industry professionals attribute the increase in prices compared to previous years to several factors, including the increase in the cost of chicks, the increase in the price of animal feed, as well as the drop in temperatures.
