The 6th edition of the Ultra Trail Amizmiz 2024: Moroccans at the top of the rankings, a victory of determination and excellence

On May 4 and 5, 2024, Trail Maroc brilliantly orchestrated the 6th edition of the Ultra Trail Amizmiz, an unmissable sporting event for nature running enthusiasts and experts. Organized by Trail Maroc and Transatlas Sport Management, this event brought together participants from all over the world for a day full of adventures, challenges, conviviality and exploration.

More than 680 participants tackled arduous trails, technical climbs and breathtaking landscapes throughout their journey. With distances of 9 km, 22 km, 31 km, 74 km, the courses offer challenges adapted to each level, while highlighting the natural splendor of the Amizmiz region.

For the results of Saturday’s races: Moroccan runners stood out at the top of the 74 km solo rankings. Among the men, Ayoub AHMED rose to first place, followed by Abderrahim FATIHE in second position and Mohamed Abderafi AIT MANSOUR in third place. On the women’s side, Jihane RAQIQ won first place, followed by Radia CHEIKH LAHLOU in second position and Fatima Zahra El-OTHMANI in third position.

As for the winners of the 74 km relay, the French Laurent MESSAGER and Sabrina MANISCALCO took the lead in the ranking, followed by the Moroccans Abdelaziz AIT HERROU and Ali Bensahba in second place, and the Moroccans Abdelkader EL MOUAZIZ and Rachid ELMORABITY in third place. place.Top of form
For the results of Sunday, the hardest race of 31 Km was won by the Moroccan champion Youssef MESKOUK and among the women by the French Elisa COUDOUX.

The 22 km event was noted by the excellent performance of the Moroccan Salah MOHAMED who came in first, while among the ladies, the victory went to the French Susannah DUNCAN.

The last distance of the 9 km was won among the men by the Moroccan Bourhim ELBOUZYRY and among the ladies the Italian Dyana Karine PIMIENTA.

With Trail Maroc, children are never forgotten, they were also entitled to their “Kids Trail” race, offered to young people from local douars.

This edition was also marked by exemplary solidarity, manifested through the reconstruction of a school destroyed by the earthquake.

The Amizmiz Ultra Trail was also an opportunity to raise awareness about environmental preservation and the conservation of natural spaces. The organizers have implemented environmental protection initiatives, including the collection of waste throughout the route in addition to a recycling action for the waste collected as well as the bottles consumed.
