Elimination U17 Women’s World Cup: Moroccan players determined to beat Algeria

The coach of the Moroccan women’s under-17 football team, Younes Rabie, affirmed that the preparations for the meeting which will pit the Moroccan national team against its Algerian counterpart, Friday in Berkane, take place in good conditions and that the Moroccan players are determined to achieve victory.

This match, scheduled at the Berkane municipal stadium (8:00 p.m.), is part of the first leg of the third and penultimate round of the African qualifiers for the 2024 World Cup in the category. The return is scheduled for May 17 at the Salem Mabrouki stadium in Algiers.

This double confrontation is of “capital importance” for the Moroccan players and for their training, indicated Younes Rabie, in statements to the press on the sidelines of a training session on Thursday, noting that the Moroccan selection will rely on its strong points in order to bend the debates in its favor.

For her part, the national team player, Ines Aboucharif, indicated that her teammates are looking forward to playing this meeting, noting that the preparations took place in good conditions.

Same story with player Chaimae Boughazi, who assured that the national team is driven by a will of steel in order to overcome the Algerian pitfall and get closer to the final phase of the World Cup.

In the previous round of these qualifiers, the U17 women’s national team got the better of their counterpart from Niger, winning (11-0) on the outward and return legs.

The U17-2024 Women’s World Cup will take place in the Dominican Republic from October 16 to November 3. The qualified selections from the Africa zone will be known at the end of the fourth and final round next June.
