The Bani Fateh group in the Taza region was shaken on Thursday evening, during the presence of a tragic accident that killed a collective employee with the rank of electricity technician, after falling from the top of the electric column while performing maintenance tasks in terms of public lighting.
According to identical local sources, the victim, which is called “Al -Bashir”, was about to repair broken lamps in one of the electric wooden columns in the Tinast circle, before the column was broken, which made it fall to the ground and immediately affected by its serious injuries.
The same sources indicated that the deceased was not available on sufficient preventive means which guarantee his security when implementing these dangerous tasks, in the light of a certain number of citizens described as “repeated negligence” in professional security conditions, in particular in such interventions which require special equipment and precise training.
The accident left a wave of deep sadness among the colleagues of fire and the inhabitants of the group, as well as the discussion on the fragility of the electrical infrastructure, in particular the wooden columns which have become a threat to the workers and the citizens.
Local actors asked to open an urgent investigation to discover the circumstances of the accident and determine the responsibilities, as well as the need to examine the security procedures approved in such tasks, in order to avoid the repetition of these tragedies in the future.
