Lahcen Saâdi, a member of the National Rally of Independents (RNI) political bureau, affirmed that the massive popular turnout at party activities reflects the commitment of activists to the party’s leadership and confidence in the country’s future.
During his speech in Marrakech, Saâdi called on Moroccan youth not to be drawn into the “fuel and kindling” used by some to retaliate for their electoral defeats and attempt to undermine the nation’s values, stating, “We shouldn’t give anyone the opportunity to wreak havoc in our country.” He urged the opposition to present a real political alternative instead of personally attacking officials. He said, “It’s a shame to present our nation’s youth with this image of political work,” pointing out that politics should be based on the exchange of ideas and programs, and that ballot boxes are the true arbiter.
Saâdi also criticized the opposition’s attempts to poison the minds of young people with negative ideas, calling for allowing young people to love their country and their king. He noted that this nation deserves happiness and that there should be no problem in acknowledging the achievements of the government, such as the generalization of social protection, salary increases, the restoration of the dignity of teachers and widows, and record-breaking tourism numbers.
Saâdi stressed that the government is not seeking narrow personal or electoral interests but is here to serve the nation. He emphasized that history will record the achievements of this government and called on party activists to rally around their leadership and maintain a “tone of hope.”
