According to the report, Morocco climbed seven places to rank 81st out of 139 countries included in the ranking, achieving a score of 14.2 on the Market Development Index. This places Morocco at the top of North African countries in this area, ahead of Mauritania, which ranked second regionally. The Market Development Index is one of seven main components of the Global Innovation Index and measures various aspects of the economic and investment environment that supports innovation, including access to finance, investment, and the development of the labor and product markets.
