HIBAPRESS – Chafiq Annouri
The Royal Moroccan Navy intercepted, last Saturday, a recreational boat registered in occupied Ceuta, which was being driven by a Spaniard off the coast of the city of Fnideq, and on board were five irregular migrants.
The intervention came after suspicion of the boat's involvement in a migrant smuggling operation, which was later confirmed after finding five irregular migrants inside, including a minor. The boat departed from the coasts of occupied Ceuta and was driven by a Spanish citizen along with five other people, including a minor of Moroccan origin. The boat aimed to bring irregular migrants into occupied Ceuta, before the Moroccan Navy was able to detect and intercept it. The operation resulted in the seizure of the boat and the transfer of all those arrested to be handed over to the competent security authorities in order to open an investigation under the supervision of the Public Prosecution.
