HIBAPRESS – Meknes
Once again, the October session of the Meknes municipal council was disrupted today, Tuesday, October 7th, due to the absence of a number of members who chose not to attend, which prevented the session from being held.
This behavior raises more than one question mark about the extent of some elected officials' commitment to their responsibilities towards the city and its residents, especially since such positions do not serve the interests of Meknes or keep pace with its development ambitions. Today, as we live a sensitive stage that requires concerted efforts to advance the city, we find that some elected officials prefer side conflicts at the expense of the public interest. The question remains: How long will the people of Meknes continue to pay the price for electoral choices that do not put development first? The session was postponed to a later date. They turned against the president Abbas Lomghari as was their previous habit with Jawad Bahji… And the hope is that the Ismaili presence will be at the heart of attention, not a hostage to disputes.
