A Spanish radio program specializing in travel highlighted Rabat, the capital of Morocco, considering it a tourist destination that offers an authentic experience away from the intense tourist crowds seen in cities like Marrakech.
The program highlighted the modern infrastructure, including the Grand Theatre, which blends with the city's ancient history and makes it an ideal starting point for delving into Maghrebi culture.
The program, called "El Placer de Viajar," stated that "the old city of Rabat is characterized by a clean and well-preserved traditional market with wooden windows," and also highlighted "the Kasbah of the Udayas, the fortified city, with its calm atmosphere, colorful doors, clean streets, and magnificent views of the Atlantic Ocean."
The program also touched upon "the Rabat cemetery and the magnificent mausoleums of Mohammed V and Hassan II," considering these sites an example of the blend of traditions, history, and natural beauty of the city, adding that a traveler to Rabat should not miss the opportunity to cross the Bouregreg River towards Salé.
In terms of food, the program stated that "Rabat" offers classic Moroccan meals, including couscous, tagine, and pastilla, along with fresh seafood, such as oysters and fried fish, which reflects its coastal location, giving practical advice to travelers to "avoid tap water and enjoy local cuisine, especially couscous on Fridays, which is a holy day."
